Little River's home for martial arts & fitness since 2021 — where the kickboxing is the vehicle, and who you become is the point.
Coach Mike built Crush Kickboxing for one reason: the values martial arts teaches — discipline, hard work, integrity, perseverance, respect, and confidence — are exactly what people need, and they carry into every part of life.
For kids and teens, parents aren't signing up for a sport; they're investing in who their child becomes. For adults, it's the same promise — you don't just get in shape, you get more capable, disciplined, and confident, and you join a community that has your back. The self-defense is great and the fitness is wonderful, but what our students use every single day is who they've become.
Coach Mike built Crush to be the opposite of the intimidating, ego-driven gyms where beginners feel like outsiders. Here, every person who walks through the door is welcomed like family, nobody gets thrown in the deep end, and every student is seen. That culture isn't an accident — it's the foundation of everything we do.
Coach Mike Reed — owner and head coach — has trained in martial arts for more than 27 years, since he was 15. He's a 2nd-degree black belt in Taekwondo, a black sash in Muay Thai under Focus Fight Team's Coach Jeff Robinson, and a brown belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu under Shane Briggs, with belts in several other styles over the years. He sets the standard, curriculum, and culture for every class.
But the belts aren't the point — what they represent is. As a teenager, martial arts changed the direction of Mike's life: it transformed him physically, taught him to focus, and helped him become a better person. That's the whole reason Crush exists — to give kids, teens, and adults the same thing that changed him — and it's exactly why he's so passionate about sharing it.
Coach Garrett ("Coach G") is a homegrown Crush story. He's a student of the gym who's been with us since the day we opened — and he walked in already training jiu-jitsu at another school. Across 7+ years in martial arts, more than five of them training right alongside Coach Mike, he's earned his black sash in Muay Thai under Focus Fight Team's Coach Jeff Robinson — the same lineage as Mike — while continuing to train jiu-jitsu and other styles. He's a sharp, humble young guy who genuinely loves helping people; he's deeply invested in our students and their goals, and there's nothing he enjoys more than helping someone get a little better every class.
Every kids and teen class also has a paid teen assistant instructor — advanced teen students who earned the role of helping teach. That program is one of our proudest expressions of the mission: students who started years ago as nervous beginners now confidently lead the next generation. No other school in the area offers it.
